Shor is a Y Combinator-backed international payroll and Employer of Record (EOR) platform built for early-stage founders making their first international hires. Founded in 2024 by Daivik Goel (CEO) and Avi (CTO), with Swapneel as Founding Engineer. Headquartered in the United States.

The thesis: incumbents (Deel, Remote, Rippling) charge enterprise rates that subsidize their European customers and route support through ticket queues. Shor uses region-based pricing — you pay the real cost of operating in each country — and a founder is in the customer's Slack channel, not a support queue.

- Contractor payments: $19/month per contractor (flat global rate, ~150+ countries reachable subject to OFAC sanctions)

- Managed payroll on your own entity ("bring your own entity"): $50–$60/month per employee. $60 tier: India, Brazil, Mexico, UAE, Canada, Germany, UK. $50 tier: Pakistan, Philippines, Chile, Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa. The customer stays the legal employer; Shor runs gross-to-net payroll, statutory filings, and tax remittance.
