TL;DR: Deel wins on breadth: more EOR countries, immigration support, and a much larger product surface. Shor wins on cost and transparency, at some of the lowest published prices in the market: $299-449/month per employee, $19/month per contractor, flat disclosed 2% FX. If you're enterprise-sized or need 100+ EOR markets, pick Deel. If you're an early-stage startup hiring in the corridors we cover, the math favors us.
We build Shor, so you should read this page with that in mind. We've written it the way we'd want a competitor to write about us: published numbers with links, clear concessions where Deel is genuinely better, and a section on who should not pick us. Everything below is as of August 2026.

Where Deel genuinely wins
- Coverage breadth. Deel supports employer of record hiring in 100+ markets (independent guides report 130+ countries with owned entities). We cover 25+. If your next hire is in a country we don't serve, this comparison is over and Deel is a good answer.
- Immigration and visa support. Deel has an in-house immigration product for sponsoring visas and relocating employees. We don't offer this at all.
- Enterprise readiness. Procurement processes, security reviews, SSO, a large integrations catalog, and a support organization built for accounts with hundreds of workers. If your company buys software through a procurement team, Deel is built for that motion.
- Product surface. US payroll and PEO, Contractor of Record at $325/month, equipment, background checks, and more, under one vendor. We deliberately do less.
Where Shor wins
- Employee cost. Our EOR is $299-449/month by country against Deel's published $599/month. On a 3-person team at our $299 tier, that's $900/month vs. $1,797/month in platform fees, roughly $10,800/year back.
- Contractor cost. $19/month vs. $49/month per contractor. For 8 contractors, $152/month vs. $392/month, about $2,880/year.
- FX you can read. We charge a flat disclosed 2% and print it on every receipt. Deel does not publish an FX number on its pricing page; independent guides report 0.6-2% depending on corridor. Deel's rate may beat ours on some corridors, but you'll have to ask for it in writing. You'll never have to ask us.
- Speed to the recipient. Same-day local rails to India, the Philippines, Nigeria, and 12+ LATAM corridors. Payday lands the day you send it.
- Support at founder altitude. You get a founder in your Slack, not a ticket queue. At our size this is possible; it's the honest trade against Deel's larger, tiered support organization.
- Terms. No setup fees, no minimums, month-to-month. There is no initial term to serve out and no early termination or offboarding fee, so leaving us costs 30 days' notice plus whatever local law requires for the employee, which depends on their country and tenure. Deposits, where a country requires them, are quoted up front before you sign, not discovered at onboarding.
Who should not pick Shor
Genuinely, some companies shouldn't:
- You're hiring employees outside our 25+ EOR markets. Coverage is the first filter and Deel's is far wider.
- You need visas or immigration support. We don't do it.
- You're past a few hundred workers or buy through procurement. You'll want Deel's compliance documentation depth, integrations, and account structure.
- You want one vendor for every HR function. Our product is international hiring and payments, done well. It is not an all-in-one HR platform.
If two or more of those describe you, use Deel and you'll be well served. This page will still be here when your needs look more like our sweet spot.
The verdicts
- Choose Deel if you need the widest EOR coverage, immigration support, or enterprise-grade procurement and integrations, and $599/month per employee fits your budget.
- Choose Shor if you're seed to Series B, hiring in the corridors we cover, and want the lowest published platform fees you'll find with FX disclosed flat on every receipt.
- Genuinely unsure? Count your next 12 months of hires by country, multiply by each platform fee, and ask both of us for the FX rate and any deposit in writing. The spreadsheet will decide.

FAQ
Is Shor actually cheaper than Deel? On published platform fees, yes: $299-449/month vs. $599/month per EOR employee and $19/month vs. $49/month per contractor. Total cost also depends on FX (ours is a flat disclosed 2%; Deel's varies by corridor and isn't published) and any deposits, so compare full quotes for your specific countries.
What does Shor not do that Deel does? Immigration and visa support, EOR in markets beyond our 25+, Contractor of Record, US PEO, and a large enterprise integrations catalog. If any of those is a requirement, Deel is the better fit today.
Does Shor charge deposits like Deel? Deposits depend on the country. Where local rules make one necessary, we quote it up front before you sign, so it's in your math from day one. Independent guides report Deel's EOR deposits at roughly one month's total cost; confirm with Deel for your countries.
Can I move from Deel to Shor later? Yes. Contractor migrations are typically a week: new agreements, tax forms recollected, payment details verified. EOR employees require a formal re-hire to our local entity or partner, which we sequence around your payroll calendar so nobody misses a payday.
